13/14 EPL place predictions

For United, David Moyes has been a good appointment, but as we might already know by now, we're NOT gonna win the title next season, nor in the next 2-3 years. Our club has a rich tradition, with SAF being responsible for its foundation, therefore, it will take Moyes some time to implement his style to the club, just like how SAF did when he joined in 1986. In addition, with the presence of Mourinho and Pellegrini in the way, it's almost certain that it won't be our time to shine.

Anyhow, I predict that Chelsea are gonna win the 13/14 premier league title. Last season, they struggled with new managers, however, they were still very good, and Jose Mourinho will provide INSTANT succuss. Since he has managed the best Chelsea team i've seen before, it's kind of a no brainier to say that the current Chelsea squad also carries the same amount of potential, as the winning team before, for the title next season.

As for CL qualifications, I'm gonna say that United are still good enough to get in, even with Moyes being our manager, since his style of football is not too much of a change from SAF's. For the third club, its a tough one. I was thinking about Arsenal, but then again, City has a better chance, since Pellegrini also brings out that INSTANT flair to any club he manages, not to mention the signing of Jesus Navas got me very intrigued with what Pelle. will do next.

Fourth place, in my opinion, is gonna be another dogfight between Spurs and Arsenal, with Spurs having a slighter edge of getting through (sorry Gunners). But this can only be possible if Bale stays, or else, my hopes are definitely gonna go with Arsenal, but I really don't know to be honest. And I think it's safe to say that Liverpool are now becoming a greater threat, under Brendan Rodgers's management. With the delicious signings he's made very recently (Coutinhoand Sturridge), I wouldn't be surprised if he makes another quality signing this summer, but anyhow, my bet on fourth place with have be to either Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool.

As for Europa league qualifications, I'm definitely gonna go with Liverpool, if they don't get lucky with 4th place. Everton might also have a chance, but it depends on how the 4th place goes. Although i admire martinez (yeah, I think it's gonna be Martinez as Evertons new manager), I don't think he can provide consistency right now, so my bets are on Liverpool for fifth place.

Anyways, I feel I'm rambling a lot now, so I'm just gonna shut up for a while and read your thoughts on whom you think is gonna the title next season, as well as the top four platings.

Your thoughts?

I think it will be a three way fight between Chelsea/City/United next year. Depending on what transfers are made and who adjusts the most quickly. Arsenal I think will be fourth or could be third because they are definitely looking to strengthen this year. Followed by Spurs and then Liverpool. Everton may pull out a surprise under Martinez. Liverpool are gonna be strong, but I think they will lose Suarez and although they will have the money from his sale, it will be difficult to attract any striker of his ability without any European football.

Chelsea will not win the BPL with Torres & Ba up front.

If they purchase a top quality striker then I'm absolutely certain that they will win the league.

It\'s too early to tell honestly because the main signings haven\'t been made yet. For example, a player like Cavani can change the entire picture depending on where he goes.
I will say though to keep in mind a few things:
*All top4 clubs will have a change of manager except for Arsenal. IN THEORY, this should provide an advantage to Arsenal but I feel we\'ll be starting too far behind anyway as our squad is noone near as good as Chelsea or City\'s
*Chelsea, end especially City will be making some big signings. City has already admitted as much, while RA & Jose Mourinho need no invitations to splash the cash. On the other hand, I have a feeling that United won\'t sign more than 2 major players. I don\'t know why but I have this gut feeling that they won\'t spend too much (famous last words). Even more interestingly is Arsenal\'s situation...
*As per the MO of the club, absolutely noone has any idea what exactly is going on behind the scenes. ALL the noises are that they are going to invest heavily and the fact that Wenger only has 1 year left on his contract (and he\'ll want to make sure he\'s offered a new one at the very least) lends wight to that speculation. What's more is that we've just signed 2 new massive sponsorship deals and there has been a massive clearout the likes of which we haven't seen in recent memory. Still, we\'ve had money before and we\'ve heard it all before and Wenger is not a man that easily changes. He has a Valuation for every player he\'s interested in and if the transfer is outside of that value, it almost NEVER happens.

In summary, everything is very up in the air atm. We won\'t be able to make any good predictions until we see how the signings shape up. If I were pressed, I\'d argue that United will be challenging but won\'t win the title. IF City invest wisely and Chelsea strengthen key areas they\'ll probably be favourites. The real dark horse in all of this is Arsenal. They have the stability of the manager, a very determined/gritty squad (something that was lacking in our \"youth project\" days), and potentially, the wherewithal to reinforce the squad massively. Even with all of these I would not expect them to win it next season but a close race/2nd place would make me happy.

As for Spurs, I don\'t believe Bale will leave and I think they will sign a striker. I also beleive that AVB is a good manager so I think that they will play just as well (at the very least) although probably better next season. Even granting all this, I don\'t think they\'ll be in the top 4 next season as all of the clubs above them are going to invest heavily this summer. Even if they get stupid money for Bale and he is sold... there is a finite amount of top class talent in the world. In other words, you can have all the money but if can\'t attract the ELITE players losing a player like Bale is almost impossible to replace.

I think Liverpool will be in Europa League next season. Even if/when they sell Suarez, they\'re scouting has looked very good so far (they\'re trying to land Muriel... another gem in the making). I think Everton will struggle a little.

Just because SAF is gone doesn't mean we're not going to win the trophy next season let alone for the the next 3~4 years...

As a Porto fan, I just can't wait to see Tottenham v Chelsea. The apprentice vs the specialist.

Not sure who's going to win the league. Too unpredictable at this point.
