I hate to be a dick, but that 123m? That was just to get you lot to renew your season tickets.
They need that money to spend on the 250+m they still owe for the stadium. You won't be buying any super purchases, in the near future, and all the superstars that earned you guys 20-30m apiece when you sold them have now gone. No-one's going to come offering 25m for Walcott or Wilshire, even as great as we Englishmen hope they will become. :/
I'm not saying this to be mean. I'm saying this to prepare you for the fact that Arsenal have lost a large chunk of their revenue stream, now that the last of the gravy-train guys has gone (30% of the last two years worth of profits). If they don't make CL football this season, then shave another 30% of your club's revenue off once again, plus the attraction of dining at football's highest table.
The stadium cost was always going to mean Wenger would have to work on a shoe-string budget. What they banked/gambled on was winning trophies, despite this, and most certainly staying in the CL. Only one half of that arrangement held up, and is now in serious jeopardy.
This is why the NLD, and Arsenal's table position this year, are more crucial than ever. They're your only hope of survival as an elite club.
Ask Footaholic. >.<
hahahhaaa. this is funny.
@lodatz's comment is not, unfortunately.
I'll add 1: use it to assassinate Piers Morgan and Stewart Robson.
The good news for Arsenal fans is that the latest accounts confirmed £123m is sitting in the bank.
Spend it all on Gareth Bale
Spend it on 123 Carl Jenkinsons
Divide it amongst 60,000 fans, giving them £2,050 each to take a summer holiday and get over another trophyless season
Build chairman Peter Hill-Wood an ivory tower
Purchase a two-bedroom apartment in Highbury
Splash out on 123 million lottery tickets - at least that way the club is bound to win something
Live up to their nicknames, assembling a genuine Arsenal before taking a trophy using military force
Hire Hollywood's leading names to divert attention to misfortunes on the pitch for a year. Tom Cruise earned just shy of £50m last year, Leonardo Di Caprio and Adam Sandler around £25m each. Alternatively, play them in defence
