I put Gerrard above Lampard because Gerrard was able to achieve a lot of things without having the team that Lampard had around him.

Gerrard 2000-10 - 8 trophies
Lampard 2000-10 - 10 trophies

Not much difference, huh? I'd give credit to Gerrard for that. However, that being said, it was difficult for me to choose Gerrard over Lampard because I like Lampard more. But I had to make this list from the least amount of bias as possible. Here are my reasons for picking each player.

Zinedine Zidane (he is Zidane.... there should be no other reason required)

Thierry Henry (he was a mesmerizing footballer that terrorized the EPL, very few players in his time as good as him)

Ronaldo (an all-time great)

Gianluigi Buffon (one of the all-time greats)

Paul Scholes (an outstanding player, the best Englishmen in the last 2 decades)

Ronaldinho (he was the most entertaining player I have ever seen)

Paolo Maldini (2 Champions League, one of the all-time greats)

Raul (2 Champions League, 11 trophies during the decade, consistently one of the highest scorers in Madrid despite sharing limelight with Ronaldo, Morientes, van Nistelrooy, and Higuain)

Steven Gerrard (for the reasons above)

Cristiano Ronaldo (1 Ballon d'or, 1 World Player of the Year, 2x 2nd place Ballon d'or, 2x PFA Player of the Year, 1x Golden Boot. I didn't put him here because he is an all-time great simply because he established his legacy post-2010, and I didn't want to throw that in as a reason. I put him here because he ripped apart the EPL with his talent, and was arguably only bettered by Henry over the decade during his time in the EPL)

Lampard over Gerrard for sure. Gerrard continues to play as a main man for Liverpool, but Lamps at his peak during that decade was an absolute beast.

The same can be said about Gerrard. You are ignoring the simple fact that Gerrard never had the players around him that Lampard did. Frank had a much easier time doing his job than Gerrard. I'm not saying that Lampard is better than Gerrard, but Gerrard has been the better player through the course of that decade. His role at Liverpool was so much more than a player. He was an inspiration as both a player, a captain, and a legend.

Hard to pick 10, I would rather pick 50 if I could.
