Twente Earned More from Beer Sales than from Transfers

Dutch club Twente earned more from beer sales than from player transfers. According to journalist Tom Knipping, cited by Twente Insite, Twente generated more revenue from selling beer at the stadium in a year than from the transfer of football players.

In the hospitality sector, which includes beer sales, Twente earned approximately 10.5 million euros, excluding expenses for employee salaries and product procurement. The club made around 6.4 million euros from player sales.

«It's strange that Twente makes more money from beer than from players. I haven't seen anywhere in Europe where a club earns more from beer than from footballers,» notes Knipping.

Twente is currently third in the Eredivisie, accumulating 27 points in 12 matches.
