Total Barça Triumph! Barcelona Beat Real Madrid to Secure Historic Title Win

Barcelona Defeat Real Madrid in El Clásico to Officially Become La Liga Champions

FC Barcelona produced a total triumph against Real Madrid, securing a historic victory in El Clásico and officially winning the 2025/26 La Liga title.

Real Madrid arrived for El Clásico in terrible condition. And it was not only because of the long list of injuries — including key players like Kylian Mbappé and Federico Valverde. More importantly, the atmosphere around the team appears heavier than ever. Internal conflicts, fines, leaks to the media — all of it happening under a manager who clearly looks close to leaving his position.

It was hardly surprising that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, against tradition, did not attend the match personally. Perhaps he simply did not want to congratulate his rivals on winning the title.

Emotional Night for Hansi Flick

Before kickoff, the stadium held a minute of silence in memory of the father of Barcelona manager Hansi Flick. News of his death appeared earlier on the day of the game.

That largely explained why Barcelona’s bench celebrated every goal by immediately embracing Flick.

Rashford Scores a Stunning Free Kick

Barcelona only needed nine minutes to open the scoring.

Antonio Rüdiger fouled Ferran Torres right on the edge of the penalty area. Marcus Rashford stepped up and curled a perfect strike into the far top corner.

A brilliant goal worthy of El Clásico.

At this point, Barcelona probably have to buy the Englishman permanently from Manchester United.

Ferran Torres Doubles the Lead

Nine minutes later, Barcelona scored again.

This time the beauty came from Dani Olmo’s incredible backheel assist while the ball was still in the air. After a pass like that, Ferran Torres simply had to score — and he did not miss.

Playing as a striker, Ferran scored his 16th goal of the league season, drawing level with Lamine Yamal.

Overall, the hosts looked comfortably better than their opponents. The score could have become even bigger before halftime, but Rashford failed to convert a one-on-one chance. Soon after, Olmo also wasted a good opportunity.

As for Real Madrid, they created very little before the break. Their best chance fell to Gonzalo García, who also failed to score after getting through one-on-one.

VAR Refuses to Intervene After Bellingham Incident

The tension of the match completely remained in the second half.

At one point, a massive confrontation broke out between the players, with Dani Olmo and Raúl Asencio both receiving yellow cards.

Then came one of the most controversial moments of the game.

Eric García caught Jude Bellingham with an elbow during an in-game challenge and split the Englishman’s lip open, leaving blood visible on his face. It looked very much like at least some kind of booking and possibly even a penalty since the incident happened inside the box.

However, VAR did not intervene.

Soon afterward, Bellingham found the net, but the goal was ruled out for a fairly obvious offside.

Raphinha Returns After Injury

Another major moment of the second half was the return of Raphinha, who had not played since March after suffering an injury while on international duty.

The Brazilian immediately became involved in another heated clash. This time both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Raphinha received yellow cards, with the Barcelona winger now set to miss the next league match due to suspension.

Barcelona Make El Clásico History

Near the end of the match, Robert Lewandowski wasted a huge opportunity when he chose to shoot instead of passing the ball to a teammate in a much better position, although by that point it barely mattered anymore.

Even the referee seemed to understand the game was over, adding absolutely no stoppage time in the second half.

Barcelona officially became champions of the 2025/26 season — and for the first time in history, they secured the title directly in El Clásico against Real Madrid.

The victory also allowed Barcelona to level Real Madrid in the all-time head-to-head record between the clubs. Both sides now have 106 El Clásico wins each.

Barcelona Celebrate While Real Madrid Apologize to Fans

After the final whistle, Barcelona’s players immediately started celebrating, dancing, forming circles in the center of the pitch, and throwing Hansi Flick into the air.

Meanwhile, the Real Madrid players walked toward the away supporters with raised hands in apology. Some even folded their palms together as if praying for forgiveness after a second consecutive trophyless season.
