He is now injured in the national team.
In March, Ibrahimovic became the oldest scorer in Serie A, but in the next couple of weeks, it is better not to expect his exploits: Zlatan's health is failing again.
Now injured in the national team: problems with the thigh muscles will leave Zlatan out of the game for 10-15 days
According to Calciomercato, the 41-year-old Swede has problems with his right thigh muscles. Ibra was injured before the Sweden team's game against Azerbaijan. The national team coach, Janne Andersson, called his injury an annoyance, while respected journalist Luca Bianchin said that Zlatan did not have such a severe injury.
The Swede will miss at least 10-15 days. He will not play against Napoli on April 2, with a high probability he will not enter the field on April 8, when Milan will meet with Empoli. Ibrahimovic may only play on April 16 against Bologna.
Zlatan returned to Milan at the beginning of 2020; since then, he has been out 14 times, 2 of them due to illness (flu and coronavirus). In total, he missed as many as 643 days and 86 matches.
Ibrahimovic endured terrible pain to win the Scudetto with Milan. Only then did he agree to the operation.
Significantly Zlatan often suffers from problems with his knee: he was kicked out for almost six months back in 2021. Before that, Ibra had been eliminated for such a long time only in Manchester United, when he tore his cruciate ligaments.
He played the 2021/22 season until the very end - he came on as a substitute and played for 20 minutes, but even so, he helped - for example, he gave an assist to the winning goal in the game against Lazio. Milan won the championship, and Zlatan opened up: "I have never suffered so much on and off the field. I turned something impossible into something possible. All this to become a champion with Milan. I made a promise."
According to Zlatan, since the fall of 2021, he has been playing without an ACL in his left knee, having trained with the team only ten times. He did over 20 injections, drank painkillers daily, and hardly slept.
In May 2022, right after the end of the season, he underwent surgery to correct the instability of the joint by reconstructing the anterior cruciate ligament. The recovery period is 7-8 months.
"I decided to have the operation for my health, not to play. I didn't feel well, I felt terrible for the last six months, and those inside the team and working with us knew about it," Zlatan said in December.
