The President of PSG is upset with Messi's behavior

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain, has stated that Argentine footballer Lionel Messi acted improperly by publicly expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of respect at PSG after leaving the team.

Earlier, Messi claimed in an interview with the YouTube channel Olga that he was the only player at PSG who was not congratulated for the victory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. In the Final, Argentina defeated France in a penalty shootout. Former PSG teammate Neymar, a Brazilian, previously stated in an interview with Globo that he and Messi went through hell during their time with the Parisian team.

"I greatly respect him, but if someone wants to speak ill of PSG after leaving the club, that's wrong. It was disrespectful on his part. He's a good guy, but I wouldn't say I like this. We are in France, and he won against Kylian Mbappe. We are a French club. I don't want the whole stadium to be against him, either. But we talk together, not when the player has already left. That's not our style," Al-Khelaifi said, as quoted by RMC Sport.

Messi, a product of Barcelona's youth system, won ten La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League titles with the club. In 2021, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain, winning the French league twice and the French Super Cup once. In the summer of 2023, Messi joined the MLS club Inter Miami. Messi won the World Cup and the Copa America with the Argentine national team. Messi is an eight-time Ballon d'Or winner.
