The Name Of The New Manager Of The Brazilian National Team Has Become Known
Sao Paulo FC announced that Dorival Junior will lead the Brazilian national team.
On its official social media page, the football club Sao Paulo announced that manager Dorival Junior has left his position to take charge of the Brazilian national team.
The Brazilian national team was left without a coach after finishing their performance at the World Cup in Qatar, where they lost in the quarter-finals to the Croatian team on penalties. Tite, who led the Selecao, had announced before the World Cup that he intended to leave his post and end his coaching career after its conclusion. Since the summer of 2023, the duties of the head coach of the national team were carried out by Fernando Diniz, whose dismissal was reported by Brazilian media earlier in January. One of the contenders for the vacancy was the coach of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, who recently extended his contract with the royal club until 2026.
"Sao Paulo Football Club announces the retirement of manager Dorival Junior, who requested to be released from his position to take charge of the Brazilian national team," said the Brazilian team's press service.
The manager referred to the upcoming appointment as the realization of a dream, made possible only because he received recognition for the work done at Sao Paulo.
