The Head Coach of Crystal Palace Left the Club After Being Hospitalized

Englishman Roy Hodgson has left his position as head coach of London's Crystal Palace, the football club's website reports.

On Thursday, February 15, the 76-year-old Hodgson was hospitalized after feeling unwell during the morning training session. The media reported that the club was planning to retire Hodgson.

"This club is exceptional; it means so much to me and has played a huge role in my football life. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here over the past six seasons, as it has allowed me to work with high-class players and staff every day doing what I love," Hodgson said.

"However, I understand that, given recent circumstances, it may be appropriate for the club to make plans for the future at this time, so I have decided to step aside so that Crystal Palace can pursue its plans to find a new coach, scheduled for this summer," he added.
