It's about Elon Musk. The new owner of Twitter announced a few weeks ago that the obsolete blue checkmarks would be removed on April 20th. Today, it disappeared not only from Ronaldo but also from thousands of other users.

Now this feature is paid - a subscription to Twitter Blue costs $ 1,400 per month for businesses and only $ 13 for individuals.

Many high-profile social network users said they would not pay for a subscription, including writer Stephen King, rapper Ice-T, and Seinfeld star Jason Alexander. Ronaldo has not announced anything publicly, but apparently, he will also not use Musk's innovation.

Twitter Blue offers several additional features. It allows you to edit tweets, write much longer tweets up to 10,000 characters, make text bold and italic, and enable two-factor authentication via SMS.

In addition, the platform now has golden checkmarks - they are intended for large organizations. For example, big media with a worldwide reputation.

There are also gray checkboxes on Twitter - they mark government organizations and politicians. Among them are people like British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and French President Emmanuel Macron.
