Shin Pads of the Future: How Federico Dimarco and AI Are Changing Football

The football brand Soccerment, which specializes in artificial intelligence, announced a three-year partnership with Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco last year. The goal of this collaboration is to "transform the future of football, " and it seems like they’re already making progress.

Inter’s left-back now uses AI-powered shin pads. Their standout feature? They connect via Bluetooth to a phone or laptop and transmit real-time data about the player’s physical activity.

The shin pads track leg strain, running speed, distance covered, shot power, ball touches, and more. The AI then analyzes this data and provides insights through a dedicated app, comparing the player's stats to those of other athletes so they can gauge their performance against peers.

The quirky part? These shin pads need to be charged. They look like regular pads, but there’s a USB port at the bottom (just like a phone). It's recommended to store them in a special case — not just because they protect your shins but also to keep the internal sensors safe.

Interestingly, this product is available to anyone. You can grab them on the company’s website for a relatively affordable price of €160.
