Ronaldo's Goal Sent His Teammate to a Stretcher, Medical Staff Had to Step In

An Al Nassr defender suffered from an overly enthusiastic celebration, which almost turned tragic.

Cristiano Ronaldo is not just a football phenomenon; he's a true idol for millions of fans worldwide. Every goal by the Portuguese star is a small celebration for his fans, who eagerly follow his game. For them, every successful match of Ronaldo is a reason to rejoice, and each goal becomes an event discussed for hours.

But it’s not just Cristiano's fans who can’t hide their joy from his goals. His teammates at Al Nassr also share the excitement when Ronaldo does what he does best — sending the ball into the opponent’s net. However, sometimes, these intense reactions can have rather peculiar consequences.

This is precisely what happened during the second round of the AFC Champions League when Al Nassr secured a 2-1 victory over Al Rayyan. In the 76th minute, Ronaldo scored the winning goal. But this time, it wasn't the goal itself, but the celebration that caught attention. One of his teammates, Salem Al-Najdi, was so thrilled with the team's success and his captain’s achievement that he jumped off the bench to join the other players in celebration. However, the defender hit his head on the bench roof in his exuberance. The impact was so strong that he lost consciousness on the spot.

The referee had to stop the match to allow the medical staff to assist the injured player. Al-Najdi remained unconscious for several minutes, but after the medics intervened, he was carried off the field on a stretcher. Fortunately, hospitalization wasn't necessary, and after some time, the defender could leave the stadium alone, accompanied by a doctor.

Despite the alarming moment, everything ended well. Al-Najdi quickly regained consciousness, and severe injury was avoided. The next day, the club officially confirmed that the defender was feeling fine and ready to return to training. Thankfully, the celebration didn’t result in a severe incident this time, and the joy of Ronaldo's winning goal didn’t turn into a real tragedy.
