Ronaldo Could be Punished for a Scandalous Gesture to Fans During the Match

The Saudi Football Federation has launched an investigation into Ronaldo's gesture to fans.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) has launched an investigation into an incident involving Al Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who made an indecent gesture to Al Shabab fans, the Asharq Al-Awsat publication reports.

On Sunday, Al Nassr won 3-2 away to Al-Shabab in the 21st round of the Saudi Pro League round. Ronaldo scored a penalty. After the game, the Portuguese turned to the home fans and waved his hand several times in the groin area. According to Marca, Ronaldo reacted to the chanting of the Argentine footballer Lionel Messi's name by the stands.

According to sources, the disciplinary committee will soon comment on the incident. A decision on possible punishment for the Portuguese forward will be made within a few days.

This is not the first time Ronaldo has displayed indecent gestures in Saudi Arabia. In April 2023, he grabbed himself by the groin after a game against Al Hilal. In early February, after a match against the same club, Ronaldo, on his way to the locker room, picked up one of the scarves thrown at him by Al Hilal fans, tucked it into his shorts, and threw it away.
