Ronaldo Aims for 1000 Goals: How Much Time Will It Take?
At Al Nassr, where Cristiano has been playing since January 2023, he has already scored 62 goals (in 68 matches). His contract with the club runs until next summer, so he will play about 30 more league games and another ±15 in other tournaments. With his current scoring rate, the forward is expected to score around 40 goals in these matches.
Then there's the Portugal national team. By next summer, the team will play four more Nations League matches (or six if they reach the final), plus two to four World Cup 2026 qualifiers. Given that Ronaldo scored two of Portugal's last six goals, he could net around three more. This would add up to about 45 goals by July 2025.
Even if Cristiano extends his contract with Al Nassr, he won’t reach 1000 goals by the end of the 2025/26 season. Before the American World Cup, his tally will be around 970-980 goals. And at the World Cup, when Ronaldo is 41, he still won't hit 1000. Therefore, if the Portuguese star is determined to achieve this historic milestone, he must maintain his scoring form and keep playing until 2027.
