Roberto Carlos is nothing short of a legendary footballer. Over two decades, he won 22 titles, including the FIFA World Cup and three Champions League trophies. By 2015, he retired with an impressive fortune of €150 million.

Interestingly, Carlos's personal life has been just as eventful. However, the "trophy count" here is a bit more modest — 11 children with seven women by age 50. Just a few more, and he could form his own football team. One of his long-term relationships was with Mariana Luccon, whom he married 15 years ago. They have two daughters together.

Or rather, had a relationship. Without delving too deeply into their family dynamics, let’s stick to the facts: their marriage hit a rough patch, leading to a divorce battle. According to Spanish media, Mariana is seeking half of Roberto’s wealth. Meanwhile, the football legend now resides at Real Madrid’s training base because both of his homes are occupied.

Mariana and their daughters take the first house, while Mariana's relatives reportedly use the second. You might wonder why, with at least €75 million to his name, Carlos doesn’t just move into a luxury hotel. The answer is simple: Roberto works for Real Madrid as part of their structure — on Real Madrid TV and as a club ambassador. Staying at the club’s base is both economical and practical.

Considering Roberto’s well-known romantic history, it’s perhaps no surprise he’s fighting to preserve even €75 million. Many footballers, even those with less eventful personal lives, have gone bankrupt after retiring. Besides, Real Madrid’s training complex could easily qualify as five-star accommodations.

Still, there’s a reason for the unwritten rule among active football players: wait until you retire to get married. Unfortunately, few seem to follow it.
