Rivaldo Criticizes Raphinha for Comments About Argentina National Team

Former Barcelona star Rivaldo has criticized his compatriot Raphinha for remarks made ahead of the Argentina vs. Brazil clash in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Brazil suffered a heavy 1-4 defeat.

"Raphinha is having a great season, and you could call him one of the best players in the world. But he can't make statements like that, saying they'll beat the opponent. He could’ve said it would be a tough game — but not what he actually said. He made a bold claim but failed to deliver on the pitch," Rivaldo told TNT Sports.

For reference, Argentina became the first South American team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
