While Luis Enrique settled in here.
PSG has officially opened its new training base, which cost the club €300 million.
42 bedrooms, fitness rooms, pools. It has everything
For 53 years since the club's foundation, Parisians have been based in one place, but now they have moved to a super-modern, newly built luxurious complex in Poissy – 24 km from the center of Paris.
The Daily Mail reports that the construction took a year, with approval obtained in 2019. The leading men's and PSG Feminine women's teams will train at the facility.
The academy will also be based here, and the complex, covering an area of 728,000 square meters, is planned to be transformed into a multi-sport training center. In the project's second phase, after 2024, space will be provided for handball players and even judo practitioners.
The complex can accommodate a total of 180 athletes, with 42 bedrooms overlooking the training areas of the first team, numerous fields, fitness rooms, pools, relaxation areas, a dining area with space for video analysis, a press conference room, changing rooms, and areas for procedures and massages.
The club has released a video shot by a drone. Just appreciate how modern this sports center is.
The same architects who designed the "Allianz Riviera Stadium," the home stadium of Nice, were responsible for designing the center for PSG: French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and his firm, Wilmotte & Associé.
The Paris Saint-Germain Campus stadium reconstruction, which will accommodate 5,000 people, will be completed by 2024.
Matches of the second men's division, the first women's division, the Women's Champions League, the UEFA Youth League, and other tournaments will be held there.
The photos are impressive.
"This will be the most beautiful training center in the world," anticipates former Canal+ journalist Karl Olive. "Even compared to the Real Madrid base I visited, this is simply a gem. It's amazing; I still get goosebumps from my last visit. The important thing is that, despite its obvious grandeur, we strive not for abundance but rather for functionality."
Luis Enrique has yet to find housing. He has settled temporarily at the new base
The new PSG coach, Luis Enrique, now also lives there.
Enrique wants to live as close to the base as possible and is not considering options in the center of Paris or anywhere else.
The coach has encountered difficulties in the real estate market in Paris. Mauricio Pochettino went through something similar – after being appointed PSG's head coach in January 2021, he lived in a hotel for over a year before finding a suitable home.
According to RMC Sport, the Spaniard will stay in Poissy until he finds suitable accommodation.
