Premier League Gameweek 34 Preview and Score Predictions

The Premier League season is heating up, with only a handful of game weeks remaining in the 2023/2024 campaign. Fans have been in for a treat at both ends of the table this term, with the title race and the battle to avoid relegation hotly contested by a handful of teams. With the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City vying for the top spot, teams such as Burnley, Sheffield United, Luton Town, Everton, and Crystal Palace hope to remain in the league for one more season. Below is our preview of Gameweek 34, featuring highlight games such as Arsenal vs. Chelsea and Everton vs. Liverpool.

Arsenal Faces a Decisive Gameweek

The Premier League title contenders all have challenging games in this gameweek. Liverpool faces off against local rival Everton, while City is a slight favorite in live betting odds at BetMGM when they travel to take on Brighton.

Arsenal faces two challenging games this gameweek, starting with a trip to play Chelsea on Tuesday, April 23rd. The Gunners know they must be near perfect to end their two-decade title drought and win the Premier League this season. Chelsea will be a challenging game for Arsenal, given the London rivalry will result in a passionate, intense game with plenty of noise expected from all stadium ends.

Before taking on the Blues, Arsenal has to navigate the small matter of an away Premier League clash against Wolves on Saturday, April 20th. Wolves are enjoying an awe-inspiring season and have a habit of nicking points off top teams.

Can Sheffield United Or Burnley Stay Up?

While a lot of fan focus is on the top of the table, those at the lower end are also facing decisive games in the coming weeks. Sheffield United and Burnley are both in the bottom three, with the two newly promoted sides running out of time to remain in the Premier League next season.

As they prepare to meet on Saturday, April 20th, both teams know they are in last-chance saloon territory. Sheffield United is at home for this game and will be hoping they can get all three points to give them a slight chance of avoiding the drop.

Burnley, meanwhile, has seen improvements in recent results and will want to carry that momentum into this game.

Can Fulham Pull Off an Upset Against Liverpool?

Another telling clash over the weekend is Liverpool's trip to London to take on Fulham. The Cottagers are enjoying a very productive season, sitting comfortably mid-table. While they are nowhere near Liverpool in the table, they have shown the ability to give a challenging game to other top sides this season.

If Liverpool drops points at the weekend, they will be at a serious disadvantage in the title race. Not only will they be two points worse off than their rivals, but the pressure will ramp up ahead of a crucial game in midweek.

Injuries have hampered Liverpool this season, but they could be set to welcome back defender Trent Alexander-Arnold. The frontline is relatively healthy, with Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Luis Diaz all available, along with Diogo Jota off the bench.

Previewing the Merseyside Derby

Everton and Liverpool are experiencing vastly different seasons in 2023/2024. While the Toffees are hoping to stay in the Premier League, mainly due to points deductions for financial rules breaches, Liverpool have much loftier ambitions. They have already won the Carabao Cup and hope to send off manager Jurgen Klopp with the league title.

However, form is often irrelevant in derby matches. Everton and Liverpool are local rivals with an intense history that goes back decades. Despite having a poor season, Everton fans would experience a huge uplift in emotion if they could seriously derail their archrivals’ title bid.

Any game at Goodison Park is challenging for opposition teams, as Everton fans can create an incredibly intense atmosphere. Liverpool are too aware of this danger, as they do not have the best record in these matches. The two teams often play out a draw at this venue, which would not be a positive result for Liverpool’s title quest.

How Will the Title Race Shape Up?

The up-and-down nature of this Premier League season’s title race shows that making predictions before the final game may be futile. With three quality teams, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City, vying for the title, the outcome may come down to the very last seconds of the season. All three teams still have plenty of challenging games to navigate, with each top side still playing top six side Tottenham. We can predict plenty of goals and drama in the coming games, not least the ones scheduled for gameweek 34.
