Porto Players' Party Ends with Police Intervention

Players of the Portuguese club Porto threw a large party to celebrate the birthday of Brazilian defender Otávio, which ended with police intervention and an internal investigation by the club, according to A Bola.

Based on videos recorded by members of the fan group Super Dragoes, the celebration of Otávio's 23rd birthday took place in the Boavista area of Porto during the night of April 21–22. Among those spotted at the party were players Tiago Djaló, Martim Fernandes, Wyllian Gomes, Fábio Vieira, and João Mário. The event was eventually shut down and required police involvement at dawn. The players left the venue early in the morning, violating team protocols.

Porto has launched an internal investigation involving the players, with Samuel Aghehowa and Danny Namaso also potentially implicated. So far, it is known that Otávio will receive a heavy fine and will miss the Matchday 31 game against Estrela. Djaló could be sidelined for the remainder of the season. The other players are expected to face milder disciplinary actions.

After 30 rounds, Porto has collected 62 points and currently sits in fourth place in the Portuguese league, trailing leaders Sporting by 10 points.
