Pogba Has a Chance to Revive His Career. Where Should He Go?
It was recently revealed that Paul Pogba might return to the field early in March. Juventus, the club he is still contracted with, wants to terminate the deal, but Paul has a different attitude:
"I want to raise my level to match the rest of the team, to keep up with them. The reality now is that I am a Juve player, and I’m preparing to play for them, even if it means taking a pay cut. I want to come back."
However, several other options remain if things don’t work out with Juventus.
Marseille
The club recently signed Pogba’s compatriot, Adrien Rabiot. Now, the sporting advisor for the Provençal side, Mehdi Benatia, is eager to lure Paul in. De Zerbi’s team needs a creative player to fill the number 10 role. On loan from Inter, Valentin Carboni tore his ACL, leaving only Amine Harit for the position. A midfield trio of Rabiot, Pogba, and Højbjerg could be balanced and adaptable.
Los Angeles
Two of Pogba’s former French teammates, Olivier Giroud and Hugo Lloris, are trying to attract him to the American giant. Giroud has been struggling (0 goals in 8 MLS matches), so Pogba could help turn things around and become the perfect playmaker. The U.S. also seems like a great option from a PR and media standpoint.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi clubs are also interested in the midfielder. Pogba's Muslim background makes this move appealing from an image perspective. While no specific clubs have been named, Pogba could form an excellent partnership with Marcelo Brozović at Al Nassr or become an alternative to the team's other transfer target, Kevin De Bruyne.
