Platini Proposes Radical Idea to Reform Football
Former UEFA President Michel Platini has proposed a bold proposal to reform football, according to RMC Sport. Currently serving as an advisor to the International Federation of Professional Footballers, the 69-year-old football legend suggested reducing the number of players on the field to 10 per team.
"Perhaps it's time to remove one player from each team and play with ten. Teams played with 11 players in the past century, but the athletes were slower and covered less ground than today. So, reducing the number of players might be beneficial, as it would create more space on the pitch," explained Platini.
This suggestion aims to adapt the game to the modern era when footballers are faster, stronger, and more capable than ever. This could potentially reshape the sport’s dynamics and strategy.
