Newcastle striker Joelinton has been arrested for drunk driving. This is reported by The Times.

The Brazilian striker was arrested on the morning of January 12 after police stopped his car in the Pontland Road area of Newcastle. Joelinton was charged with drunk driving. The player is due to appear before a local court at the end of January. The meeting is scheduled for the 26th. Newcastle officials, including head coach Eddie Howe, are aware of the incident.

Joelinton has been with Newcastle since 2019. The striker has scored two goals and two assists in 16 games this season in the Premier League.
