On Wednesday, for the first time in 20 years, the Champions League anthem will be played at St. James' Park. Since 2004, Newcastle had been struggling in vain for a place in the Premier League's top tier, occasionally dropping into the Championship. Still, everything changed rapidly after a change in ownership. In 2021, a Saudi investment group purchased the "Magpies" from Mike Ashley and appointed Eddie Howe as the head of the team.
Results soared, and in just the second season, the club finished in the top 4 and qualified for the Champions League. "Newcastle" has already played its first tournament match away against Milan (0:0). Still, the second meeting will occur at their home stadium, with PSG visiting the English side.
The "Magpies" plan to celebrate the return of the Champions League to St. James' Park in style. At the beginning of the week, fans noticed drone shows being rehearsed above the stadium, which have become popular in the Middle East.
Regardless of Newcastle's result against the Parisian team, an incredible show awaits us!
