Roma's manager, Jose Mourinho, has referred to his dismissal from Tottenham Hotspur as the most absurd in his career.

The Portuguese specialist managed Tottenham from 2019 to 2021 and was dismissed shortly before the final of the English League Cup, in which Spurs lost to Manchester City (0:1).

«I've always said that a manager who has never been fired is not a real manager. But there's a difference when you leave on your own terms and when the club decides. The most absurd situation happened at a club with an empty trophy room. And I was fired a couple of days before the final. At that moment, I thought, 'Come on.' That dismissal smelled bad,» Mourinho said on The Obi One Podcast.
