Michael Owen Assessed Liverpool's Prospects with the New Manager

Former Liverpool player Michael Owen assessed the Reds' prospects under the guidance of Arne Slot, who is expected to take over the Merseyside club in the summer.

"Am I afraid there might be a decline under Slot? It's possible, but I hope it doesn't happen. At the start of the season, everyone will be optimistic: a new manager, a new style of play, maybe one or two newcomers — there won't be any major changes. I don't think Slot will change the game significantly from what Liverpool are showing now.

Of course, every Liverpool fan will be nervous, considering what happened with Manchester United, Arsenal, and even Chelsea. However, they have yet to have such consistency over long periods. Once a team declines, returning it to its former level is more accessible. Right now, it's all about the details. It would help if you were a genuinely superb team to compete for the title.

The Premier League has the highest standards in its history; you can't afford to make mistakes now. They will be nervous. Will Liverpool remain a powerful force, or is its era of greatness over? Will it take time to return to the top? We'll see," Owen was quoted by Gambling Zone.
