Mbappé is Already the King of Madrid: Europe Praises Kylian's Debut at Real Madrid
The striker is on the front pages of leading newspapers.
For several years, fans and experts speculated how Mbappé would fit into Real Madrid's system. It seems the UEFA Super Cup match provided the answer. The forward played at the center of the attack, spent 83 minutes on the field, and scored the goal that ended any suspense. Special attention is given to how many times Mbappé found space in this episode.
FootyRoom reviewed the front pages of leading European media outlets, and as expected, they were filled with praise.
Marca: "The Party Begins"
Mbappé, holding the Super Cup, is on the front page of Madrid's leading sports publication. The headline in bold letters reads: "The Party Begins." Next to it is an explanation: Madrid won the UEFA Super Cup with a debut goal from Mbappé. The match MVP, Bellingham, provided the assist after Valverde scored.
The Telegraph: "Off to a Flier!"
The English publication featured a photo of Mbappé celebrating, with the headline "Off to a Flier!" This idiom, which shouldn’t be translated literally, means "a strong start." The paper adds: "Boom — that’s how Mbappé began his career at Real Madrid."
BBC: "Trophy, Goal, and 'No Limits' — the Mbappé Era Begins in Madrid"
A BBC journalist highlighted how quickly the Frenchman made an impact for his new club. "Despite having resumed training just a week ago, PSG’s top scorer needed under 70 minutes to make his intentions for the new season clear — calmly finishing the match, securing a triumphant start." Additionally, the outlet quotes Mbappé, who says that at Real Madrid, he has no limits — he could score as many as 50 goals this season.
Quotidiano Sportivo: "Mbappé is Already the King of Madrid"
The Italian publication also featured a photo of the striker celebrating on its front page, captioned "Mbappé is Already the King of Madrid." Quotidiano Sportivo recognized the certainty of the result, which did not favor the Italian club. "The law of the strongest" is how the publication described Real Madrid’s series of titles while noting that Atalanta managed to hold off their opponent for over an hour.
Le Figaro Sport: "A Perfect Evening for Mbappé, Weaknesses of Mendy..."
The French publication dedicated a paragraph to the striker: "Mbappé couldn't have started his story with Real Madrid any better. Reserved in the first half, the captain of the French national team gradually found his place amid a world-class attacking quartet. Well-serviced by Jude Bellingham in the box, Mbappé scored a stunning goal into the top corner with his right foot (68th minute). His connection with Bellingham and Vinícius already looks promising. The first match for the Frenchman — the first trophy, and it certainly won't be the last.
