Vinícius vs Alonso

Madrid Is Still on Fire: Vinícius vs Alonso, Contract Chaos and the Transfer Storm Ahead

The situation in Madrid keeps burning. Vinícius Júnior still hasn’t cooled off after his clash with Xabi Alonso — and the conflict continues to block his contract extension with Real Madrid. The Athletic reports that negotiations have once again hit a dead end. The issues remain the same: a broken relationship with Alonso and the Brazilian’s massive financial demands. Vinícius wants Mbappé-level money.

The French superstar earns around €30 million per year. Real value Vini at a “modest” €18 million. That is a significant gap. And it’s wild to think that just a year and a half ago the winger was carrying Real to a Champions League title and fighting Rodrygo for the Ballon d’Or race. Naturally, he now wants to be paid like it.

Madrid offered €20 million — and got an immediate “no”. Vinícius is demanding €30 million, one and a half times more, plus a signing bonus. That last part especially wasn’t in the club’s plans.

A Contract Extension He Might Not Even Want

It’s becoming increasingly likely that Vinícius is deliberately sabotaging the negotiations because of his conflict with Alonso. And he seems to be manipulating Real’s leadership in the process. Real Madrid rarely throw money around, especially on salaries. These demands won’t be met. Which means that in the upcoming transfer windows, Los Blancos will start actively exploring a sale.

He can’t leave for free — he’s tied to the club until 2027. But surviving that long in this atmosphere is another story. Vinícius desperately needs to feel like the team’s loved and pampered superstar. Real aren’t giving him that anymore.

Still a Difference-Maker on the Pitch

To be fair, Vinícius is not sinking the team. This season he’s still delivering big moments and dragging Real forward: 5+4 in 17 matches, a massive El Clásico performance, and 32 goal contributions in LaLiga and the Champions League last year. When he’s fit, focused and motivated, the output is guaranteed — even next to Mbappé.

His average SofaScore rating hasn’t dipped below 7.3 for the last three seasons. That’s elite consistency.

But all of this clashes with his stubbornness and constant controversies. His relationship with Alonso broke almost instantly. The conflict reportedly started back at the Club World Cup and escalated in the match against Barcelona, where Vinícius snapped at the coach, asked to leave the club, and then apologized to everyone but Alonso. Since that night he hasn’t registered a single goal or assist in four games. In the latest match, he didn’t even start — Rodrygo replaced him.

Is Xabi Alonso Losing the Dressing Room?

Insiders close to the club claim Alonso is slowly losing parts of the locker room. After three winless games, it doesn’t sound impossible. Still, nothing critical has happened yet. The club fully trusts their new manager. No shifts are expected.

And make no mistake: Alonso won’t back down. He will demand tactical discipline and professionalism. Vinícius clearly isn’t ready for that. Real’s leadership refuse to raise the salary. So maybe it’s time for Vini to stop haunting Pérez and Co. The road east is wide open.

Europe Has Suitors — But Who Actually Needs Him?

Vinícius will definitely attract interest across Europe. Early whispers include Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG, Liverpool. All of them can afford his wages. But what would they do with him?

Liverpool

On paper, a perfect solution — Salah is declining, and Vini fits the profile. But is this the signing that pulls Slot’s team out of a crisis? Zero balance in attack, chaos everywhere. Adding Vinícius brings even more unpredictability. Defense is a far bigger issue. Konaté is barely holding together.

Chelsea

Enzo Maresca already has enough wide options thanks to the owner’s shopping spree. Chelsea don’t expect Vinícius now. Only mass departures or failure to sign Garnacho would open a spot. And predicting Todd Boehly is impossible — he’s more likely to buy three more teenagers for resale than trust Vinícius.

Manchester City

Wings are packed. Doku and Cherki are in top form, and Doku especially is one of the team’s most influential players — playing exactly on Vinícius’ left side. Behind them are Savinho, Bobb, Marmoush, and even Foden can slot in. If City sign anyone from Real, it’s Rodrygo. Those rumours are old. It’s also hard to imagine Guardiola coexisting with Vinícius. Pep is just as demanding as Alonso.

PSG

Given the injuries, they could make a move. But once everyone is fit, how does Luis Enrique fit Vinícius, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia, Barcola, Dembélé, Ramos and Lee Kang-in into one attack? Exactly.

Vinícius fits everywhere — theoretically. But will it actually work? He’s controversial, unpredictable, and his resale value may soon collapse. A risky investment.

Saudi Arabia: The Destination That Solves Everything

The Gulf has no such problems. They’ll find room for a superstar, meet his financial appetite, and throw in extra. They nearly handed Batracho (you know who) over €100 million per year. Vinícius won’t need to worry — a monster salary is guaranteed.
