Lyon Coach Fonseca Suspended Until Late November for Attacking Referee

Lyon's head coach, Paulo Fonseca, has received a lengthy suspension for aggressive behavior.

Earlier we stated that the Portuguese manager attacked the referee after Lyon’s Ligue 1 match against Brest on March 2. According to the LFP, Fonseca is banned from his team’s games until November 30 this year. Additionally, he is prohibited from entering Lyon’s dressing room until September 15.

Fonseca took charge of Lyon in late January, signing a contract until mid-2027. A month before his appointment, he was dismissed from AC Milan, where he had been in charge since the start of the season.

After 24 rounds, Lyon currently sits in sixth place in the Ligue 1 standings.
