Liverpool have lost 9 of their last 13 games. Should Arne Slot be sacked?
Keep Him
Expectations at the start of the season were massively inflated. After Jürgen Klopp’s departure, nobody realistically expected Liverpool to be in a title race — yet Arne Slot produced something unreal and punched far above the club’s supposed ceiling. Sacking him after the first serious crisis would be impulsive and foolish.
On top of that, the blame for the underperforming stars doesn’t fall solely on Slot. The board abandoned their principles and turned Liverpool into a kind of “Galácticos”. Firing Slot (whose repeated requests for a centre-back were ignored) would simply shift responsibility onto an easy scapegoat.
Time to Let Him Go
Liverpool have no coherent football at the moment. Last season, the Reds were the best team in the league in expected points and expected goals, and second-best in expected goals conceded. Now they barely crack the top eight in those metrics — while in chances allowed at their own goal, they're fifth from the bottom.
Slot is only making things worse with questionable squad decisions. The team’s leaders — Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk — are far from their best form, yet the Dutch coach keeps starting them in 99% of matches. And let’s not forget the integration of new signings: it’s been nearly half a year, but the club’s big-money arrivals have contributed very little.
