Laporta Named the Barcelona Player He Wants to Sign a Lifelong Contract With

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has expressed his desire to sign a lifelong contract with defender Ronald Araujo.

"We must fight until the end, that's what Xavi conveys to the team. We should never give up. We may win and lose, but we must always fight as long as we can breathe. And Ronald embodies such a fight.

I would sign a lifelong contract with him. He is a wonderful person. I won't talk about his professional qualities — he is one of the best central defenders in the club — but I want to highlight his loyalty to the club. For Barcelona, the fact that such a player defends its colors in this way is a matter of pride," the official is quoted as saying by Relevo.

Araujo has been playing for Barcelona's first team since 2020. It was reported that the Catalans could sell the Uruguayan if a good offer came in.
