It has been revealed why Lionel Messi didn't give away his shirts at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Six shirts worn by the Argentine forward Lionel Messi during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar are up for sale, as reported on the official website of the Sotheby's auction.

The collection includes the jersey Messi wore in the final, semi-final, quarter-final, round of 16, and two group-stage World Cup matches, which the Argentine national team won.

According to the Daily Mail, the estimated price of the shirts is over 8 million pounds (over 10 million dollars). Currently, the most expensive sports item ever sold at an auction is the jersey worn by basketball player Michael Jordan in the first game of the 1998 National Basketball Association (NBA) finals, which was sold for 8.1 million pounds. It is noted that a portion of the proceeds from the sale will go to charity.
