Iniesta Shares Plans After Retirement

On Tuesday, former Barcelona footballer and World Cup champion with Spain, Andrés Iniesta, announced his retirement and revealed his plans to pursue a career in coaching.

"At this stage, my football playing days are over, but the game continues. I can't be too far from football; it has been and will remain my life. We are working on various projects. I am motivated to continue training outside of football. Still, I also need to learn and participate in the projects of our clubs and academies. This is the legacy I want to preserve. I will start with coaching courses to prepare for my next life phase. You know, I’m very stubborn. I would play until I was 90 if I could, but I’m happy that I fulfilled my dream of becoming a footballer," Marca quotes Iniesta.

Iniesta, now 40, became a World Cup champion and a two-time European champion with Spain's national team. From 2002 to 2018, he played for Barcelona, winning nine La Liga, four Champions League, and six Copa del Rey titles. Afterward, Iniesta moved to Japan's Vissel Kobe, and his last club was Emirates in the UAE.
