Jack Grealish
Grealish Shines Again! Wolves Fall Short as Everton Claim 3-2 Win

A stunning start to life at Everton for the former Man City man.

The clash at Molineux turned into a showcase for Jack Grealish. The midfielder, only just beginning his new chapter, delivered two more assists and single-handedly tore Wolves apart. Everton walked away with a thrilling 3-2 victory, while the hosts remain pointless and under growing pressure at the start of the season.

Fast Start from the Visitors

From the first whistle, Everton showed intent. Beto was constantly finding space, Ndiaye battled for every ball, and Grealish played with a freedom that felt worlds away from his struggles at Manchester City.

It took just seven minutes for the breakthrough. Vitaliy Mykolenko crossed from the left, Grealish delicately flicked it on with his head, and Beto tapped in from close range — 0-1.

But the joy was short-lived. Wolves, booed earlier by their own fans for caution, responded with a sharp attack. Manetzi burst down the wing and crossed for Hwang Hee-chan, often criticized for poor finishing, who this time struck perfectly to make it 1-1.

Grealish the Conductor

Everton kept pushing. David Moyes’ system gave Grealish full freedom between the lines, and it proved decisive. On 33 minutes, Grealish split the defense with a clever through ball to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who found Ndiaye for a confident finish — 1-2.

By halftime, the visitors were in control. Wolves relied on sporadic bursts, while fans grew restless, demanding more fight. Instead, they watched Everton calmly dominate possession.

Goal of the Game

The second half began with a disallowed Ndiaye strike for offside, but Wolves’ warning signs were clear. And by the 55th minute, the killer blow arrived. Once again, the Grealish–Dewsbury-Hall connection worked to perfection. A one-touch pass from Grealish slipped inside the box, and Dewsbury-Hall blasted it into the top corner off the post — 1-3. A beauty.

From there, Grealish dictated everything — slowing the game down, drawing fouls, and forcing Wolves off rhythm. Everton looked fully in command.

Wolves Fight Back Too Late

Coach Pereira threw on fresh legs, and it finally paid off. In the 81st minute, substitute Rodrigo Gomes volleyed home to cut the gap — 2-3. Molineux erupted, and the closing minutes turned into a siege on Jordan Pickford’s goal.

The England keeper held firm — saving brilliantly from Bellegarde and watching Gomes miss a golden chance. Wolves came close but couldn’t find the equalizer, and the whistle confirmed a third straight defeat.

Everton on the Rise, Wolves in Trouble

For Everton, it’s now back-to-back league wins and four straight victories across all competitions. Grealish has instantly become a fan favorite: four assists in just three matches, showing flashes of the daring creativity that made him adored at Aston Villa. Dewsbury-Hall has slotted seamlessly into midfield, while Ndiaye continues to be lively in attack.

Wolves, meanwhile, head into the break with zero points. Fans openly voiced frustration at the ownership and demanded reinforcements. Pereira may have saved them from relegation last season, but this campaign is already echoing that rocky start.
