FIFA to Create a New Transfer Window
FIFA has approved a new transfer window for participants of the Club World Cup.
The FIFA Council, which met in Zurich on October 3, approved a special transfer window for member associations with teams participating in the Club World Cup, according to FIFA’s website.
Under the tournament regulations, the window can open from June 1 to June 10, 2025. The decision to open it is at the discretion of each FIFA member association. Clubs will also be allowed to extend player contracts if they are set to expire before the tournament concludes.
"The 2025 Club World Cup will mark a new era for club football globally. The best teams will compete for the official title of world club champions. These rules provide the best conditions for all 32 participating clubs and the world's top players to shine at the highest level," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
In 2025, the Club World Cup will take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13, and it will feature 32 teams in a revamped format.
