The club plans to offer the Argentine a salary of just 6-7 million euros per season.

So far, four Barça players have earned more: Frenkie de Jong (€18m), Sergio Busquets (€17.7m), Robert Lewandowski (€10m), and Jordi Alba (€10m).

However, Busquets and Alba are expected to take severe pay cuts next season, leaving Messi behind only De Jong and Lewandowski in this regard.

Moreover, Barcelona is reportedly planning to offer the 35-year-old a percentage of the income generated from the club's marketing sales, a significant boost to Leo's "modest" salary.

The Catalans are exploring every possibility of Messi's summer comeback. His current contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in July; however, he is still likely to stay in France.
