Bayern Crowned Bundesliga Champions After Stunning Six-Minute Comeback vs Stuttgart
Bayern Munich are champions of Germany once again after sealing the Bundesliga title with four matches still to play. Vincent Kompany’s side defeated VfB Stuttgart in dramatic fashion, producing a stunning three-goal comeback in just six first-half minutes.
It is Bayern’s 35th German league title and the second trophy already under Vincent Kompany, who has quickly restored dominance in Munich.
With title rivals Borussia Dortmund losing the day before, Bayern only needed a draw to secure the championship. Instead, they delivered a statement performance.
Kompany Rotates Heavily for Golden Match
Despite the importance of the occasion, Kompany surprisingly named a heavily rotated lineup. Only a few starters from the recent 4-3 clash against Real Madrid kept their places.
Big names including Harry Kane, Manuel Neuer and Michael Olise began on the bench.
That decision looked risky early on as Stuttgart started brighter. Chris Führich gave the visitors the lead midway through the first half after a sharp move finished low into the far corner.
For around 30 minutes, Bayern looked strangely flat and struggled to break Stuttgart’s aggressive man-to-man pressing.
Six Minutes That Changed Everything
Then came the spell that decided the title.
Bayern suddenly exploded into life and scored three goals in six breathtaking minutes.
First, Jamal Musiala beat two defenders on the left and squared across goal for Raphaël Guerreiro to finish at the far post.
Moments later, Kane’s replacement Nicolas Jackson finished a rapid counterattack with a precise first-time strike after a defensive turnover.
The third came through Alphonso Davies, whose effort took a deflection after excellent work again from Luis Díaz.
In a matter of minutes, Bayern had turned panic into celebration.
Kane Joins the Party
Kompany introduced Kane and Olise in the second half, and Bayern continued to dominate possession.
Kane needed only one shot to score, reacting quickest after a corner situation to add the fourth goal. It was another reminder of why the England captain has been one of the signings of the season.
Stuttgart barely threatened after the break, with Bayern controlling nearly everything. Their first real second-half chance came only after 70 minutes, when young goalkeeper Jonas Urbig made an excellent save.
Stuttgart did grab a late consolation through Chema Andrés, whose powerful strike flew under the crossbar.
Bayern’s Numbers Show Total Control
Bayern finished the match with 28 shots and 4.33 expected goals, underlining their superiority even with a rotated side.
This was the perfect way for Bayern to become champions: a setback, a furious response, attacking football and a statement win.
The celebrations in Munich may not last long, though. In just three days, Kompany’s side face Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup semi-final with another trophy in sight.
