Sergio Aguero may have leaked information about Lionel Messi's next club.

Aguero has been Messi's best friend since they played for Argentina's youth teams, and the duo has been in constant contact.

But the Manchester City record holder may well have spoiled Messi's plans for the future in a recent interview.

The 35-year-old is said to be postponing a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, and there are rumors that his father and agent Jorge are in talks for a sensational return to Barcelona.

However, Aguero claims the World Cup winner is considering returning to his childhood club.

"He's seriously considering playing for the Newells," Aguero told UOL.

Former Argentina and Liverpool star Maxi Rodriguez had to step in before Aguero revealed too much, saying:

"Kun is Kun. He cannot be silent. Let's see. It is difficult to
discuss because a giant tangle of rumors is being created. Let's wait
and see what happens. We will not be ahead of the facts."
