"A totemic keeper, two wingers, a deep-lying playmaker and a Colombian international striker make the cut as UEFA.com picks this term's best UEFA Champions League newcomers."

The list contains the following players:

  • Jackson Martinez (Colombia), FC Porto forward
  • Eliseu (Portugal), Malaga winger
  • Marco Verratti (Italy), PSG midfielder
  • Fraser Forster (England), Celtic keeper
  • Marco Reus (Germany), Dortmund winger

Are there any missing in your opinion? What do you think of the five guys listed above? The Champions League round of 16 draw will be held at 20 December.

How the fuck is Isco missing from the list?
He was one of the best players if not the best during the group stage.

@DonAndres,

Eliseu was Malaga's main man during group stage, while Isco has been very promising in the league. I think that's the reason why they chose Eliseu instead; they only look at achievements and effort in the Champions league, whereas Eliseu has been incredible.

To both of you, a suggestion would be if they made the list a bit longer. Oscar and Isco has been impressive after all.

No doubt that Oscar and Isco should be there.

@knibis,

In fact, Alan is more of a midfielder. Brilliant season. Good question though - he should've been there together with e.g. Oscar and Isco if they made the list a bit longer.

@Golden I have to disagree..
Oscar was Main Man during group stage.
Eliseu was the man that converted the most chances to goal.
All chances created by Isco. :P
Anyway Eliseu wouldn't be considered as a newcomer because he is 29 years old.But he has a great season till now for first time in his career.
i dont say that he doesnt deserve to be in the list though. do not misunderstand it
